Dennis Dolva began his journey with YU Taekwondo four years ago. Determined to change his life, he left his hometown and moved to Kenya’s South Coast with one goal—to dedicate himself fully to the YU Taekwondo way. I still remember his first days. He was so committed that he even slept outside the resort on the ground because he simply wanted the opportunity to start training with us.
His journey is proof that dedication, discipline, and the right environment can transform a person’s life. Today, Dennis inspires children, teenagers, adults, and entire families to believe in themselves, overcome challenges, and discover their full potential through martial arts. Whether someone is looking to build confidence, improve fitness, learn self-defence, or simply become part of a positive community, Dennis creates an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome, respected, and encouraged to grow.
From the very beginning, Dennis stood out through his loyalty, reliability, discipline, and natural leadership. Living the values of YU Taekwondo every day, he quickly earned greater responsibilities and was eventually appointed Head of Instructors.
Today, Dennis leads our instructor team in Mombasa and plays a key role in recruiting, mentoring, and developing new coaches. He is not only responsible for maintaining the highest training standards but also for building a strong, united team of instructors who lead by example and genuinely care about every student. His ability to inspire people of all ages—from young children to teenagers and adults—makes him an exceptional instructor and mentor.
Beyond the training hall, Dennis is passionate about strengthening the local community through charity initiatives and projects that support both people and the environment. His leadership is built on service, integrity, and the belief that martial arts should make a positive impact far beyond the dojang.
With Dennis, students receive professional guidance, genuine encouragement, and an inspiring example of what dedication, perseverance, and leadership can achieve. Parents can trust that their children are learning in a safe, respectful, and motivating environment, while adults will find a place where they can challenge themselves, improve their health, and become part of an inspiring community.
